"Hera Pheri" is a popular Bollywood comedy film released in 2000, directed by Priyadarshan. The movie revolves around a hilarious mix-up and a series of misunderstandings that lead to chaos and laughter.
The story begins with two unemployed and struggling individuals, Raju (played by Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (played by Suniel Shetty), who share a room in a rented apartment. Devi Prasad's grandchild gets kidnapped by some goons who mistake Raju and Shyam for the real Devi Prasad. The goons demand a hefty ransom, and Raju, Shyam, and Baburao find themselves caught in a web of confusion and comedic situations as they try to rescue the child and raise the ransom money.
The trio embarks on a hilarious journey filled with misadventures, mistaken identities, and comical encounters with various eccentric characters. They come up with different schemes, including a lottery ticket, to gather the ransom amount. Along the way, they encounter the real Devi Prasad, who is an ex-convict seeking revenge.
As the chaos escalates, the real culprits are exposed, and Raju, Shyam, and Baburao manage to save the child and escape from the goons. In the end, their honesty and good intentions are recognized, and they are rewarded for their bravery and efforts.
"Hera Pheri" became a massive hit and is celebrated for its witty dialogues, slapstick humor, and memorable performances by the lead actors. The film's success led to a sequel titled "Phir Hera Pheri" in 2006, further establishing it as a cult classic in Indian cinema.
